There are many groups and individuals working hard in Oregon and worldwide to save our forests.
The following are just a few:
The Cascadia Forest Defenders are the last line of defense between the forest and the sawmills. They are decentralized activists working together to stop the ecologically devastating and economically exploitative industrial timber harvest practices though community outreach, grassroots organizing, political pressure and non-violent direct action. They also offer training and resources to other groups working for environmental and social justice.
The Native Forest Council works to fully protect every acre of publicly owned land in the United States.
Cascadia Wildlands works to protect the most threatened wild places and wildlife from Oregon to Alaska. Their mission is to educate, agitate, and inspire a movement to protect and restore Cascadia’s wild ecosystems.
